GU Architecture Students Participate in Academic Euro Trip

Our Architectural Design & Digital Architecture team at Galala University recently completed an inspiring academic and cultural journey across Europe that combined architecture, heritage, urbanism, sustainability, and international collaboration.
The delegation included 3 professors, 3 teaching assistants, and 7 students who traveled through Italy and Germany in a truly unique educational experience.
🇮🇹 Rome & Vatican City
The journey started in Rome and Vatican City, where the team explored some of the world’s most iconic architectural landmarks, including:
🏛️ The Colosseum
🏛️ The Pantheon
🏛️ The Roman Forum
⛲ The Trevi Fountain
⛪ Vatican City & St. Peter’s Basilica
The visit gave students a direct experience of the relationship between architecture, history, religion, public life, and urban identity.
The team also visited the renowned Schiattarella Associati architecture office, where Amedeo Schiattarella and Andrea Schiattarella warmly welcomed our delegation.
Students presented their projects in digital fabrication, smart architecture, and the award-winning Abbas Bazar regeneration project in Port Said. The visit opened exciting opportunities for future collaboration and internships.
🇩🇪 Kassel — International Workshop
The second phase of the trip took place at
Universität Kassel through the international workshop:
“Living with the Fulda”
Students from Germany, Tunisia, and Egypt collaborated on urban proposals addressing:

The workshop highlighted how architecture and urban design can create more inclusive, resilient, and connected cities.
🇩🇪 Munich — Architecture & Innovation
The final stage of the trip was Munich, where the team visited:

These visits allowed students to explore the relationship between architecture, engineering, mobility, technology, and urban development.
This journey was much more than travel.
It was a living educational experience where students learned directly from cities, architecture, workshops, professional offices, and intercultural exchange.
