Students as Changemakers: Defining the Role of Future Universities in Building Climate-Resilient Communities , UK–Egypt Climate Change Commission.

Educational travel is far more than just an academic experience – it can be an incredibly meaningful and transformative one. As part of the UK – Egypt Higher Education Climate Change Partnerships initiative offered by the British Council, the Architecture Design and Digital Architecture Program at GU was awarded a joint project with Nottingham Trent University in England. Titled “Students as Change-makers: Defining the Remit of Universities in Fostering Climate Resilient Communities in the Context,” the project enabled GU students to travel to Nottingham Trent University, ranked second in the world as the best green university according to the UI metric.The trip was invaluable to the students, as it provided them with practical training through their visits to Bartlett School of Architecture, the Architecture Association, and the Design Museum. They also had the opportunity to observe the works of renowned architects like Zaha Hadid, and Sir Norman Foster. The experience was eye-opening and highly educational, allowing participants to gain insights into the potential sustainability applications of climate change
