“Kassel Revisited: AI and Urban Regeneration”—an inspiring ‘introductory workshop’ that opened new doors for students into the world of artificial intelligence in urban design.

Organized through a collaboration between the *Department of Urban Regeneration and Planning Theory* at the *University of Kassel* and the *Program of Architectural Design and Digital Architecture* at *Galala University, the workshop introduced students to the **foundations of AI and data analysis* as tools for creative and strategic urban thinking.

Focusing on the district of *Bettenhausen in Kassel, students experimented with **generative AI* to visualize future development scenarios and used *Python* to analyze urban data—learning how AI can support informed and visionary urban regeneration.

Designed as a *beginner-friendly experience*, the workshop emphasized accessibility, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning, sparking new ideas for what our cities can become.

We are especially grateful to *Erasmus+*, which funded the mobility of our Egyptian partners and made this international exchange possible.

Thank you to all students, instructors, and partners for making this first step into AI in design such a meaningful one!
