Environmental analysis & Simulation
This course explores sustainable design by comparing vernacular architecture and passive design techniques across different climatic zones, emphasizing culturally and environmentally responsive solutions. It covers building physics, indoor thermal comfort, and heat transfer control through building envelope to enhance energy efficiency. Students evaluate the impact of solar geometry, shading, natural ventilation, and construction materials on building performance using energy and daylighting simulation tools. They synthesize passive and active design strategies to approach zero-energy buildings while complying with environmental standards.
