AI To Fabrication
AI to Fabrication: Transforming Imagination into Reality at Galala University
Galala University successfully hosted the “AI to Fabrication” workshop from 23–26 June 2025, bringing together architecture students for an intensive four-day exploration of the future of computational design and digital fabrication.
The workshop focused on the integration of artificial intelligence within architectural design workflows, demonstrating how innovative ideas can be transformed into buildable forms and tangible fabricated outcomes. Through a hands-on learning experience, participants explored the relationship between digital imagination and real-world creation under the guidance of distinguished tutors.
The workshop was led by Mr. Asterios Agkathidis, Senior Lecturer of Architecture and Programme Director of the MA in Architecture at Liverpool School of Architecture, UK, alongside Dr. Hussein E.M. Hussein, Lecturer of Architecture, Building Technology, and Computational Design at Galala University.
Throughout the four days, students worked with advanced digital tools such as Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, and 3Ds Max, developing innovative proposals and translating them into physical outputs.
Workshop Schedule
- Day 1: Introduction and tutorial sessions on generative 3D models using AI
- Day 2: Workshop application brief
- Day 3: Reviewing the outcomes
- Day 4: Fabrication of the outcomes and final presentation
The workshop concluded with students presenting their fabricated outcomes, reflecting the creative potential of AI-driven architectural design and reinforcing Galala University’s commitment to future-oriented education in architecture and technology.
